It's Way Back Wednesday! Today I'll be looking at Something Queer is Going On (a mystery) by Elizabeth Levy, Illustrated by Mordicai Gerstein
I really loved this book as a kid, and as I read it again, I know why. This book is a precursor to the graphic novel. The text is great, but the illustrations go that extra step. There is always dialogue to read as well as funny charts and diagrams. Though a picture book, I would recommend this book for middle grade readers. It has fun vocabulary, tongue twisters, and plot thickeners.
"The police said that nobody had called in about a funny-looking dog with a big stomach."
As always, don't take my word for it! Buy this book below or check it out from your local library! I would love to hear your thoughts after you read it!
