Players In Pigtails

Did you love A League of Their Own as much as I did?? I can't tell you how many times we have quoted it, saying, "There's no crying in baseball!" And sometimes we change it...apparently there is also no crying in dance class, no crying in coloring, no crying in taking a bath, etc. (It doesn't work, but it helps us laugh a bit when we just want to cry!!)
Shana Corey liked A League of Their Own so much that she began researching these amazing female athletes and was inspired to write Players In Pigtails!
"The more I read, the more amazed and inspired I was by the league and its players. I couldn't believe I'd never read about them when I was growing up. So I wrote this book to share their story with kids." -Shana Corey
Players In Pigtails focuses on Katie Casey and her love for baseball growing up and follows her all the way to the pros!
I really love the way Corey weaves an engaging story and teaches you a bit of history at the same time. And I am so in love with the art! It has a marvelous, vintage kind of feel and is just perfect. Corey & Gibbon have hit a home run with this one!
