*THE* Talk

Changing You
by Dr. Gail Saltz
Illustrated by Lynne Avril Cravath
published by Dutton Children's Books

The Talk.

Two words that can cause any parent to become immediately anxious, sweaty, nauseous, tongue-tied, weepy, or a combination of all of the above!

The Talk.

(duh..duh...duh)

It is not necessarily going to be comfortable, but it does have to happen!  (EEK!)  I recently read a book that was written so well--it discussed puberty, sex, and babies in a straight forward and totally approachable way.  I thought it was age appropriate and was broad enough that it allowed for questions and conversation. (again, not comfortable--but necessary!)  And I loved that it is directed at both boys and girls.

And check out these illustrations!  I thought they are super cute, but they are also anatomically correct and allow for an educated discussion.  Nicely done, Ms. Cravath!
