Picky Eaters

I am not a picky eater (though if you ask my hubby he may disagree)...

I love almost all fruits and veggies.  I just don't love all kinds of meat.  And he is a carnivore, but doesn't love fruit.  Sometimes it complicates the menu here at our house.  And that isn't even considering the kids and all their different likes and dislikes!

I grabbed these books a few days ago and I think they're worth sharing.

I will Never Not Ever Eat a Tomato (Charlie & Lola) by Lauren Childs

Lola is a fussy eater. A very fussy eater. She won’t eat her carrots (until her brother Charlie reveals that they’re orange twiglets from Jupiter). She won’t eat her mashed potatoes (until Charlie explains that they’re cloud fluff from the pointiest peak of Mount Fuji). There are many things Lola won’t eat, including - and especially - tomatoes. Or will she? Two endearing siblings star in a witty story about the triumph of imagination over proclivity.

Too Pickley by Jean Reidy

Too wrinkly, too squishy, too fruity, too fishy!
It's lunchtime, but our fussy little boy does not like a single item on his plate. What is a boy to eat?
Reidy's playful rhyming text is once again brought to life by Leloup's stylish bold art. Parents (and children) will love the hilarious antics the boy goes through, and the reassuring joy at the end of all that kitchen-table drama.

How Martha Saved Her Parents from Green Beans

Martha HATES green beans. When some mean, green bandits stroll into town, anyone who ever said "Eat your green beans" is in big trouble. But when the beans kidnap Martha's parents, Martha is forced to take action. She can think of only one way to stop the villainous veggies from taking over her town, and it’s not pretty...or tasty. Featuring absurdly funny text and illustrations with attitude, this is a hilarious read for everyone – even the pickiest of eaters.

The Princess and the Peas

Lily-Rose May will not eat her peas. Even when her father turns them into the most fabulous smoothies, shakes, or cupcakes, Lily can always tell they are there and turns her little nose up at them. Unfortunately for Lily-Rose May, the perfect food for a princess is . . . well . . . that would be telling!
