The Dark

The Dark
by Lemony Snicket
illustrated by Jon Klassen

The Blurb

Laszlo is afraid of the dark.

The dark lives in the same house as Laszlo. Mostly, though, the dark stays in the basement and doesn't come into Lazslo's room. But one night, it does.

This is the story of how Laszlo stops being afraid of the dark.

With emotional insight and poetic economy, two award-winning talents team up to conquer a universal childhood fear.

My Two Cents

Ok, so we all love Lemony Snicket because of his Series of Unfortunate Events, but now I love him for The Dark too!  I was a kiddo who was petrified of the dark and always had the closet light on. This book is all about Lazlo, who is also a bit scared of the dark that lives in the basement.  I enjoyed this book...and, as usual, I adored Jon Klassen's illustrations, done in gouache and digitally.  My kids liked it, but not as much as me!
