Today, I'm highlighting my favorite counting book from when I was a little girl. 1 is Red by Eileen Daly, illustrated by Eugenie.
1 is Red is a 1-10 counting book with absolutely lovely illustrations. I remember searching the faces of the children in the book, trying to imagine what they were thinking...and as I read it again, as an adult...I did that exact thing. I read it far past the "appropriate" age for a counting book!
(As a side note, the photo above is identical to mine EXCEPT mine says 49c in the top right corner!)
I have never heard of this book!! Crazy how different our reading experiences were...and we both were/are big readers! (although I lack the big hair!)
