Top 10 Gifts Mom Really Wants

TOP 10 gifts for mom that she actually wants

Mamas are tired.  Whether they work out of the home or stay at home, they are tired.  Almost every mama I know gives more than she gets in most aspects of life...it is the nature of the beast! (and one I wouldn't trade, by the way!  Motherhood teaches you SO much about yourself!)

1.

First of all, I should mention that a mom's VERY favorite gift is a little bit of love and gratitude for all she does.  This is followed by handmade notes and cards made with love by children who while making said card most likely colored on the table/painted it with finger paint.  The list below does not negate the importance of these!  These gifts are priceless and make a mama's heart happy.

If you are looking for a little extra to go with the handmade love and large amounts of hugs, however, this is a great list to get your creative juices flowing!

2.

A scrapbook to put all those adorable pictures and notes in!  Or you can make a custom photo book and never even leave your home! Snapfish.com  offers tons of options, and I can tell you from personal experience that they provide an excellent product that you'll be proud to give.

3.

A Getaway!  It really doesn't matter whether it's a cabin in the woods or a lush resort, the emphasis is on getting away from sweet babies, laundry, and waking up any earlier than you want!

4.

Some new fancy cookware, cooking classes, or gourmet chocolates or olive oils from Sur La Table!  They have a great list of Mother's Day gift ideas too!

5.

Does Mama like to garden?  It's good for the soul, you know.  I found these adorable garden tools on anthropologie.com and just had to share them!  They are cute enough to birth a gardener...

6.

Tickets to a concert, show or sporting event. Give mom an experience she won't forget! Whether it's a family outing or a date night with dad, this is always a fun gift!

7.

A cute new bag (not of the diaper variety!  Ha!)  Mom's get stuck carrying everyone's stuff.  For example, my purse at this very moment contains my wallet and some lipstick, but also some Hot Wheels, finger puppets, goldfish snacks, band-aids, and a pair of  Diego underwear in size 3T.  Sometimes it's fun to feel like a woman, not just a human storage locker...

8.

Start a tradition with a Pandora charm bracelet.  These are lovely and you can add appropriate charms for future gifts.  I own one of these and love it!  They have several different looks to work for any deserving mama!

9.

What I'm about to say may come as a shock to you...you might want to sit down:  whether they're sneakers, sandals, or stilettos, women like shoes!  AND shoes always fit regardless of the scale!

10.

And of course, my very favorite item to gift a mama--or anyone--is a good book!  So whether your mom likes chick lit, mystery, or biography, give her a book and a bit of quiet time to read it!

I hope you have a fabulous Mother's Day!  Give your mama a big ole hug from me!
