"I needed to think this over.  The possibilities were endless!  I'd never be able to show anyone, because I'd never be able to explain it.  But then, I didn't have to.  Not here, not in Atlanta.  This could be my secret. Because who did I have to tell?  There wasn't anyone."

Bigger Than A Bread Box by Laurel Snyder

I have been following the fun and witty Laurel Snyder on Twitter for a while now.  I did not know just how talented she is until I picked up Bigger than a Bread Box and allowed her to break my heart.

This book had the absolute perfect middle grade voice.  The things Rebecca notices, the things that annoy her...every detail made me feel like I was in her 12 year old mind.

That being said, I don't feel like this book is limited to a middle grade audience.  Anyone that has endured unfulfilled dreams, sudden change, and middle school will relate to this book.  (And really I think that's just about everyone--I mean, if you've made it into adulthood with none of these, I am shocked...)

"But sometimes it doesn't matter whether someone is right or wrong.  Sometimes you just have to love them when they need you."

Read this book.  It's lovely.  It's heartbreaking.
